Movers + Shakers: Paul Millan joins Travellers Choice as Network Development Manager

Travellers Choice's recruitment push has entered its next phase today by appointing highly experienced industry leader Paul Millan to the newly created role of Network Development Manager.

Travellers Choice’s recruitment push has entered its next phase today by appointing highly experienced industry leader Paul Millan to the newly created role of Network Development Manager.

Based in Sydney, Millan will drive an expansion of the award-winning group’s national network by attracting successful independent travel agency owners into the Travellers Choice fold.

He brings almost 35 years of travel industry experience to his new role, including more than ten years working in the leisure and corporate travel sectors with organisations such as Thomas Cook, Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Travelscene Corporate.

Millan’s career has also seen him hold critical roles with leading travel technology companies, including Amadeus, Sabre and UK-based Traveltek, where he served as Global Director of Sales.

Managing Director Christian Hunter says Millan’s unique skillset will further advance conversations with independent agency owners re-evaluating their consortia arrangements and help Travellers Choice achieve its growth targets.

“Paul has extensive industry experience and a proven record in delivering solutions for travel businesses,” says Hunter.

“He will ensure that Australian travel agents truly understand the commercial advantages Travellers Choice shareholders enjoy in terms of unrivalled sales, marketing and business support, as well as the cultural dividends that flow from being part of a group that enjoys a 100% satisfaction rating by its members.”

Hunter says creating the Network Development Manager will also benefit existing Travellers Choice members.

“The addition of a dedicated resource focused on network expansion will enable our team of national business development managers to provide even more support to our member shareholders.”

Millan’s appointment follows the successful roll-out of “Choose Day” – Travellers Choice’s first national member recruitment campaign.

The ongoing promotion encourages independent travel agency owners to take a moment each Tuesday to learn more about the group and its benefits.

This weekend will see the Travellers Choice network embark on its 2023 National Conference, held at The Star on the Gold Coast from 10-12 November with a “Shine” theme.

“Not only are we seeing incredibly strong and sustained demand for travel, but consumers are now more aware than ever of the unrivalled expertise and enormous value that travel professionals deliver,” Travellers Choice Managing Director Christian Hunter says.

“Our future looks brighter than ever. This is our time to shine.”
