Pursers Travel Group has appointed experienced travel industry pro Harry Sargant to the position of Area Leader.
Sargant will be responsible for eight of the group’s Queensland stores in the South Burnett region, where the business began life in 1967 as a coach company.
Before joining Pursers Travel, Sargant plied his trade for 18 years at wholesaler Inside Japan, holding various managerial positions.
Pursers Travel Group started as a single agency in Murgon (Qld) and now comprises 13 Helloworld stores across southern Queensland and Northern NSW, operating under the ownership of the Dascombe family.
And the business is truly a family affair, with Felicity Dascombe running the retail travel agencies and husband Andrew managing the coach operations.

Meanwhile, Kellie Easterbrook continues as an Area Leader for the remaining stores while heading up the group’s training and development.
The support team also comprises Anna Powell, who manages product and partnerships, and Talia Schwartzman, who steers groups and events.
Owner Felicity Dascombe welcomed Sargent to the support team and expressed her delight in the team’s growth.
“I’m excited to welcome Harry to our support team,” she told Karryon in an email.
“Our stores, managers and consultants are already benefiting from the enhanced support Pursers now provides, positioning us well for future growth.”
Next month, Pursers will host a “Christmas in July” event at a Murgon winery, bringing together staff, suppliers and industry partners for a weekend of connection and festivities.

Earlier this year, travel agent Anna Powell from Pursers Travel Group travelled from Toowoomba to Sydney and back again just to deliver passports to some very stressed clients. Read how this heroic agent saved the (holi)day.
Pursers Travel & Cruise’s Racheal Henshaw also recently joined a life-changing agent famil in Alaska, hosted by Adventure World.
