Rail Europe has appointed Sandy Battle to the newly created role of Sales Development Manager for the Asia-Pacific region, bringing more than 27 years’ sales and partnership experience across touring, product and retail sales.
Based in Perth, Battle will work with key ANZ Account Managers James Hooper and Grant Robertson to ensure sales partners are well connected, supported and rewarded for selling European train journeys and create and identify new opportunities across APAC.
Her prior experience in lead generation, partner relationship management and strategic initiatives includes business development management roles at Wendy Wu Tours, Express Travel Group, Globus family of brands and the Jetset/Travelworld/Helloworld network.
With the team expansion, travel advisors in Australia and New Zealand can expect additional on-the-ground support while learning about Rail Europe’s evolving and expanding portfolio of products and tech.
Rail Europe APAC General Manager Richard Leonard said the expansion of the local team is in response to ongoing European rail travel demand.
“Travel to Europe is not slowing down and as demand continues to grow for train travel, we need to ensure our team is in a strong position to effectively support our expanding network of travel advisors,” he said.
“Sandy has joined our team at a critical time as enquiries and activities are ramping up across the region.”
