UK-owned-and-operated Riviera Travel River Cruises has appointed Steven Taylor as its new International Sales Manager as the 40-year company expands its commitment to the Australian market and to support local travel advisors.
Based in the UK, Taylor is tasked with driving expansion worldwide, with a particular strategic focus on Australia, working closely with Riviera Travel’s Australian sales distribution partner Travel the World to grow brand awareness and bookings.
He brings prior cruising experience as the Head of Retail at Saga Travel and Business Manager at P&O Cruises where he was responsible for building new distribution channels, working with trade partners and establishing new partnerships.
Riviera Travel River Cruises is seeing a 50 per cent increase year-on-year through Australian travel partners, underlining its commitment to growing its trade network in the market.
Specialising in 5-star European river cruises, Riviera Travel will host 90,000 guests in 2024, making it the largest UK-based river cruise operator.
Riviera Travel River Cruises will also welcome two new ships in 2025: Riviera Radiance and Riviera Rose, swelling its modern luxury fleet to 14.

Taylor said he is looking forward to collaborating and working with agents within the Australian market.
“Australia holds immense potential for European river cruising, offering a market rich with travellers eager to explore the historic waterways of Europe,” he said.
“I fully understand the importance of our Australian trade partners and can’t wait to begin to form long-standing successful partnerships with TTW and the trade.
“Having been a travel agent myself, I know the key to success is being effortless to do business with while providing the tools, training and experiences for our trade partners to succeed and I will work hard to achieve these goals,” he said.
