Movers + Shakers: Scenic boosts leadership with promotion of O’Neill and Crichton

Two long-time senior executives, Katherine O’Neill and Angus Crichton, have been promoted to key leadership roles to support the company’s global growth strategy.

“We are excited to significantly expand the roles of Katherine O’Neill and Angus Crichton to support Scenic Group’s growth,” Scenic Group General Manager Sales & Marketing APAC Anthony Laver said.

“Katherine and Angus have been integral to Scenic Group’s growth over the past five years, working closely with Emma Davie, Rob Kalemba and Nathan Ting within the sales and marketing team, in collaboration with all the other key business units across the operations, reservations, IT and customer care.

O’Neill, who has played a pivotal role in shaping Scenic’s brand, is now Director, Scenic Group Global Marketing & Branded Content. 

With extensive experience in luxury travel, she will oversee the global marketing direction for both Scenic and Emerald Cruises, working closely with teams worldwide.

“In Katherine’s new capacity, she will work develop the brand and core marketing content for both the Scenic and Emerald Cruises luxury river cruises and super yachts,” Laver remarked.

Meanwhile, Crichton, who has been with the company for 27 years, steps into the role of Director, Emerald Cruises AU/NZ Sales, Marketing & Scenic Group Land Product. 

He will now lead the luxury land journey portfolio, expanding small-group tours across destinations such as Asia, Egypt, and the Americas.

“The development of Scenic and Emerald Tours land products, underscores the increasing demand for seamless land and cruising experiences,” Laver said.

“This connection between our smaller group escorted tours and cruising itineraries, is key to delivering the exceptional and seamless travel experiences that our values guests expect.”

This leadership shift comes as Scenic and Emerald Cruises prepare for major fleet growth, including the 2026 launch of Emerald Astra and Emerald Kaia.
