Movers + Shakers: Jodie Beck and Linda McMullen join TravelManagers’ support team

In a big win for TravelManagers' network of personal travel managers (PTMs), the company has added not one, but two seasoned industry experts as Business Partnership Managers (BPMs). Say hello to Jodie Beck and Linda McMullen, the latest additions to TravelManagers' National Partnership Office (NPO) team.

In a big win for TravelManagers’ network of personal travel managers (PTMs), the company has added not one, but two seasoned industry experts as Business Partnership Managers (BPMs). Say hello to Jodie Beck and Linda McMullen, the latest additions to TravelManagers‘ National Partnership Office (NPO) team.

Beck and McMullen each bring decades of travel industry experience to an already impressive lineup of BPMs. These two powerhouses will be focusing on supporting PTMs across New South Wales, providing strategic and highly customised business coaching.

“Jodie and Linda will also play a pivotal role in growing the TravelManagers network,  working with potential advisors and guiding them through the process of joining TravelManagers,” Julia McLean, who leads the team as TravelManagers’ National Business Partnership  Manager, said.

What is a BPM?

There are a lot of acronyms in the industry and in each company within the industry, but for those unfamiliar, a BPM is much more than just a title at TravelManagers. They’re the cornerstone of support for the PTMs, acting as mentors, cheerleaders, and business coaches rolled into one.

“By assisting my PTMs to gain a full understanding of running their own business and ensuring they have the tools and support to reach their goals, I will provide them with the best opportunity for success,” McMullen said.

It’s a big promise, but the PTMs themselves are quick to highlight just how essential their BPMs are.

Take Lisa Smith, a PTM based in Gordon Park, QLD. For her, the BPM is a lifeline:

“My BPM is my go-to on anything and everything: crisis, good news or advice. To know you have them in your corner when you need them is the benefit of being with TravelManagers compared to other independent agents who simply don’t receive this kind of support.”

And Lisa isn’t alone.

“As a new PTM, my BPM has been invaluable,” Tanya Campbel, a PTM from Scotts Creek, VIC, says.

“Her caring nature and extensive knowledge provide the guidance I need to build my business with confidence. She supports my growth without any pressure, allowing me to find my own path while knowing I have her backing every step of the way.”

More BPMs = More support

TravelManagers has a reputation for doing things differently, and its BPM team is a big part of what sets it apart. With over 460 personal travel managers across Australia, the company’s focus on individualised support is a key factor in its success.

TravelManagers recently scooped the title of Most Outstanding Mobile Travel Advisor Network at the 2024 NTIA Awards, the third time since 2019. And according to Michael Gazal, TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager, the BPM team’s expertise and on-the-ground support are critical to this ongoing recognition.

“Having the largest and most experienced business support team in Australia for mobile travel advisors has been a major factor in our ongoing success.”

The Beck and McMullen effect

So, what can PTMs in New South Wales expect with Beck and McMullen on board? With their decades of experience and a shared passion for empowering others, both bring a wealth of knowledge that will undoubtedly benefit the PTMs they support.

While Beck and McMullen’s immediate focus will be on inspiring and guiding existing PTMs, their roles extend beyond day-to-day support. They’ll also be instrumental in welcoming new advisors to the network—a process that involves more than just signing paperwork.

McLean points out that their guidance will help future PTMs navigate the complexities of transitioning to TravelManagers, ensuring they hit the ground running.
