Virtuoso Australia and New Zealand appoints 9 local agency owners and managers as board members

Virtuoso AU/NZ recently held elections for its Boards and Committees, resulting in nine agency owners and managers from Australia and New Zealand appointed to represent the region on their respective committees.

Virtuoso AU/NZ recently held elections for its Boards and Committees, resulting in nine agency owners and managers from Australia and New Zealand appointed to represent the region on their respective committees.

The nine members will work with their counterparts in other markets to foster collaboration and innovation, establish best practices and guide network decisions to ensure maximum benefit for agencies and advisors, their clients and preferred partners. 

In addition to their committee work, the new Board members will dedicate their time and expertise to helping guide practices within their region through their participation on Virtuoso’s Australia and New Zealand Member Advisory Board.

The Virtuoso owners and managers who have been appointed to serve on Boards and Committees are as follows.

Newly elected members:

  • Robyn Sinfield, Home Travel Company – Cruise Committee
  • David Brandon, Savenio – Events Committee
  • Roland Howlett, Frontier Travel – Technology Committee

Members elected to a second term:

  • Sharyn Kitchener, Mosman Travel – Australia/New Zealand Representative for Virtuoso’s Global Member Advisory Board and Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Member Advisor Board
  • Melinda Gregor, Gregor & Lewis Bespoke Travel – Destinations & Experiences Committee
  • Mike Dwyer, Main Beach Travel – Marketing Committee

Sharyn Kitchener of Mosman Travel prepares to serve her second term on the Australia and New Zealand Member Advisory Board and said, “I am honoured to have been elected by my fellow Virtuoso members to serve as a regional representative on the Virtuoso Global Member Advisory Board. In this role, I will also serve as the Chair of the Virtuoso Member Advisory Board in Australia and New Zealand. Alongside my fellow board members, we will continue to champion the interests of Virtuoso agencies and advisors across Australia and New Zealand. I look forward to welcoming our newest board members who were recently elected into their positions.”

Anthony Goldman of Goldman Travel Corporation, Anna McMurtie of Wentworth Travel and Karen Majsay of Travel Associates have all now completed their terms, with their roles now being served by the newly elected. 

“It has been a pleasure serving as Chair on both the Australia and New Zealand Member Advisory Board and the Global Advisory Board for the past nine years,” said Goldman.

“Representing the Virtuoso community in this market has been an honour and a joy. Together, we have achieved great things for Virtuoso and our advisor community whilst elevating travel for our clients. I also wish to thank my fellow outgoing members, Karen and Anna, who have served their terms on the board and their respective committees. I welcome the new board members and congratulate those members staying on in a differing capacity to serve the board.”

Last week Virtuoso announced the appointment of a local PR agency to help increase the group’s presence in Australia and New Zealand. 

In a little under a fortnight, global members of Virtuoso and partners will descend on Las Vegas for the 36th annual Virtuoso Travel Week, commencing on 10 August, 2024.
