Trina Shepherd has joined The Walshe Group as Trade Account Manager for New York City Tourism + Conventions, bringing more than two decades of travel and tourism expertise to one of the world’s most high-profile destination portfolios.
In her new role, Shepherd will collaborate with Reginald Charlot, Senior Vice President, Tourism Market Development, and the wider NYC Tourism team to support trade engagement and destination marketing across Australia and New Zealand.
Shepherd’s appointment aligns with NYC Tourism + Conventions’ continued focus on engaging the Australian and New Zealand travel trade. Her background in brand communications and trade partnerships is expected to support the destination’s regional strategy.
Multi-market, multi-channel
Shepherd’s new position is part of a broader remit within The Walshe Group, extending into public relations and airline representation. She joins the PR team alongside Kristine George, who leads strategy for NYC Tourism + Conventions and Delta Air Lines, and Anna Riedel, who manages PR for Hawai’i Tourism Oceania.
Shepherd will also support The Walshe Group’s airline client, South African Airways, with a focus on trade and media communications.

Shepherd is well known in the Australian travel industry for her work across tourism boards, airline accounts, and travel PR. Her appointment to the NYC brief positions her at the centre of one of the world’s most visited cities, with a trade strategy tailored to the Australian and New Zealand markets.
