Wendy Wu Tours has welcomed Cara Anderson into its national sales team, tasking the former Flight Centre high-performer with looking after travel advisors across Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Her new title: QLD State Manager. Her mission: make life easier for agents.

After a stint in real estate, Anderson said the pull of the travel industry, and its people, proved too strong.

“It’s great to be back in the travel industry and to be working with such a forward-thinking and well-established company like Wendy Wu Tours,” she said.

“With my background as a travel agent, I understand what’s important to our trade partners and look forward to supporting them in driving positive results for all parties.”

From frontline to field support

Anderson’s background as a travel advisor is the lens through which she plans to approach her new role. She knows the pressures, the pace, and what agents actually need from a supplier.

Belinda Ward, Head of Sales at Wendy Wu Tours Australia, said that perspective will be a major asset.

“Cara’s experience as an agent is invaluable in assisting our trade partners to showcase the benefits of Wendy Wu Tours,” Ward said.

“She brings strong insight, a customer-first approach, and great experience to the role.”

Closing the loop

According to Ward, with Cara on board, the company now has complete national coverage, reinforcing its capacity to actively engage and grow partnerships in every state.

It also represents a kind of baton pass. The Queensland and Northern NSW patch was previously helmed by long-serving team member Angelina Briscoe, who spent more than a decade building trade relationships in the region. Briscoe has now stepped into a new specialist position but remains firmly part of the business.

With Australian interest in Asia-based touring tracking upward, and Queensland in particular a top-performing market, the appointment comes at a pivotal time. Wendy Wu Tours is continuing to invest in trade-facing roles and sees on-the-ground support as key to converting bookings.

The region’s mix of high-volume agencies and independent advisors makes it a strategically important base for Wendy Wu Tours’ growth.
