1.  Four Points by Sheraton Sydney focuses on MICE

Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour has appointed Anne-Sophie Pouzin to the position of Director of Sales, MICE, effective immediately.

This latest appointment signals the next phase in the hotel’s recruitment drive as it continues to grow and establish a strong and esteemed sales force in the lead up to the launch of its new convention centre in June 2016.

As Director of Sales, MICE Anne-Sophie will be responsible for achieving contracted revenue targets across MICE through sourcing, securing and maximising sales opportunities, and ensuring sustained success and demand for the new convention space.

She brings with her extensive experience working within large, luxury convention hotels and has a solid knowledge of international MICE and hotel markets, which places her in great stead to direct the MICE sales team as they work towards building Four Points by Sheraton Sydney’s name as a leader in the meetings, events and conference market.

Anne-Sophie will be integral to the success of this strategy and ensuring ongoing success, development and innovative solutions for clients.

She has an extensive experience in luxury hotels and MICE, particularly in Asia where her Chinese language skills were applied and developed, an ability which will prove invaluable in the Sydney business market.

Anne-Sophie started her career at The Great Wall Sheraton Beijing China where she began as a Sales Manager before moving to the Grand Hyatt at Oriental Plaza China.  Here she worked her way up from Sales Manager to Associate Director of Sales.

In her new role, Anne-Sophie will report into Marie-Cecile Dumond-Heritage, Director of Sales and Marketing, Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour.

 

2. AIME gets a new Events Director

The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) is shaking things up with the appointment of Ian Wainwright as the new Event Director.

A global events marketing specialist with over 13 years’ experience, Mr Wainwright has an understanding of all facets of the industry, enabling him to bring a variety of perspectives to AIME, from the corporate, association and not for profit sectors.

Ian Wainwright Sallie Coventry, ibtm events Portfolio Director, Reed Travel Exhibitions commented that Ian’s background, experience and passion for the events industry are key to his appointment to the position and his innovative thinking will have great influence on AIME.

AIME has also appointed Elena Peridis as Marketing Manager – AIME, Reed Travel Exhibitions, who commenced in September 2015.

With a strong background in corporate communications and community engagement, Ms Peridis will drive both exhibitor and visitor engagement strategies for AIME 2016, weaving through the core theme of AIME, where inspiration begins.

 

3. Sabre names new APAC VP Technology

Anupam Bokil has been named the new VP Technology Asia Pacific for the Sabre Corporation.

Anupam will lead the region’s combined technology teams in driving fresh innovation across the Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific product portfolio. He will leverage the deep market knowledge acquired with Abacus and Sabre’s global development assets to deliver world class software, data, mobile and distribution solutions from within the region.

A 22-year Sabre veteran, Anupam began his career with the company building decision support applications for airlines to increase their revenues, crew efficiencies and perform competitive analysis.

He was promoted through a series of product marketing, technology and delivery roles before moving to China to open the Sabre Airline Solutions office in Shanghai, while serving as managing director responsible for regional delivery.

Anupam is credited with Sabre’s implementation of mission critical support systems for a number of airlines, including Air New Zealand, WestJet, Aeromexico, Etihad Airways, US Airways, China Airlines, China Southern, Jet Airways, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines and Virgin Australia.

Most recently he has been based in the U.S., directing the teams creating a comprehensive range of innovative solutions for a European carrier.

 

4. Selina Chavry promoted at Pacific World

Following the Senior Management changes announced in September 2014 by Pacific World it has been confirmed that Selina Chavry will assume the new role of Regional Director, Asia.

In addition to her responsibilities over Singapore and Malaysia, Selina will take direct management of the Thailand, Indochina, China, Hong Kong and Indonesia businesses.
