1. Lido appoints new Director of Strategic Partnerships

Leading hotel booking and payment solutions provider The Lido Group has welcomed Grant Rattray to the role of Director of Strategic Partnerships.

Rattray has almost 15 years’ travel industry experience, including six years with Sabre Travel Network based in Sydney and Singapore.

Most recently he held the role of Sales Director, Asia Pacific for GetThere – Sabre’s online corporate booking solution – a role that saw him lead strategic development across 12 markets in Asia Pacific.

As Sydney-based Director of Strategic Partnerships, Rattray is now responsible for identifying, establishing and cultivating relationships with key partners, including some of Asia Pacific’s foremost travel management companies and hotel groups.

 

2. Hayden Hughes has been appointed General Manager, Sofitel Brisbane & Area Manager Ibis Budget

Hayden has had a long and successful career with the AccorHotels Group over the past 15 years.

He has extensive experience across all brands and Hayden was most recently the General Manager of Novotel Darling Harbour and Area Manager for Ibis Budget.

 

3. Richard Holt has been appointed General ManagerNovotel Sydney Darling Harbour

Richard commenced his career with AccorHotels in 2001 at the Darling Harbour Hotels and achieved his first General Manager appointment in March 2003 at Novotel Manly.

He was appointed General Manager Novotel Brighton Beach in October 2005.

Richard was then appointed General Manager, Swiss Grand Resort & Spa Bondi Beach. His most recent role was General Manager, Mercure Sydney Airport.

 

4. Simon Glover has been appointed General Manager, Mercure Newcastle

Simon has an extensive operational background and was first appointed General Manager of The Sebel Kirkton Park in 2002. In June 2010, he was appointed General Manager of the Novotel Newcastle Beach, his most recent role with AccorHotels.

 

5. Thomas Klotz has been appointed General Manager, Novotel Newcastle

Thomas first joined the AccorHotels network in Germany, gaining extensive operations experience. In 2009, Thomas transferred to the Australian AccorHotels network, taking on the role of General Manager at the All Seasons Katherine, now an ibis Styles hotel. His most recent role was General Manager, Ibis Newcastle.

 

6. Simon Wells has been appointed General Manager, Ibis Newcastle

Simon first joined the AccorHotels network in 2005 and has an extensive hotel operational background working previously at the Marriott Hyde Park, now a Pullman hotel.

He was appointed General Manager at The Sebel Launceston in September 2010 and his most recent role was General Manager, Ibis Styles Eaglehawk.

 

7. Lisa Brown has been appointed General Manager, Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa

Lisa commenced her hospitality career in 2001 as Reservations Supervisor for Twin Towns Resort in Tweed Heads.

Progressing to roles of Front Office Manager, Senior Assistant Manager/Project Manager and Resort Manager for the Mantra Group; this is Lisa’s first appointment with AccorHotels.

 

8. Anna Voss has been appointed General Manager, Ibis Sydney Thornleigh

Anna Voss

Anna has an extensive operational background commencing her career in New York City. Anna then moved to Australia in 2010 working for Crown Plaza and ParkRoyal before joining the AccorHotels Network in June 2014.

Her most recent role was Hotel Operations Manager for Novotel Ibis Sydney Olympic Park.

 

9. Jesse Bridge has been appointed General Manager, Ibis Budget St Peters

Jesse first joined AccorHotels in 2008 as Restaurant and Bar Manager, Mercure Brisbane. Having performed a number of food and beverage operational roles within Victoria, Jesse then moved to Sydney in March 2013 fulfilling the Brewery Manager & Hotel Licensee for Novotel and Hotel Ibis Sydney Olympic Park.

His most recent role was Food and Beverage Manager, Complex Licensee, Novotel and Hotel Ibis Sydney Olympic Park.

 

10. Uniworld boosts presence in NSW and ACT

Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has announced the appointment of Kathleen Jordan to the role of Sales Manager, boosting the boutique river cruise brand presence across NSW and ACT.

Demonstrating great credentials for the role, Kit has extensive experience in travel having spent the last five years in the retail and cruise sector. Most recently, she was a Cruise Wholesale Specialist at the Flight Centre Travel Group and prior to that worked as a Senior International Consultant, where she was awarded Top Seller of Cruises in NSW for 2013/2014.

Kit will work alongside fellow NSW sales manager David Doyle and complements the national sales team at Uniworld.

 

11. New PR appointment at Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia

Merryn Andrews has joined Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia as part-time Assistant Public Relations Manager, replacing Lauren Zoneff.

Merryn has ten years’ experience in travel PR. Prior to joining Voyages Indigenous Tourism, she was Account Director at Ink Publicity for seven years, handling clients including The Peninsula Hotels and Silversea Cruises.

Merryn will report to Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia’s Director of Public Relations, Karena Noble.

 

 

12. PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport Welcomes Executive Chef Jee Wan Lee

Melbourne Airport is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Jee Whan Lee as Executive Chef.  Lee will oversee the hotel restaurant, Airo with its seasonal menus, Airo Café, plus the hotel’s 24 Hour In-Room Dining.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality industry to the hotel with over 14 years’ experience as a Chef, Lee has worked at properties such as PEPPER’s Cradle Mountain Lodge Tasmania and has spent extensive tenures working in kitchens across the globe including Korea and Canada.
