Virtuoso has announced the appointment of Sophie Treasure as its new Account Director for Partner Relations in Australia and New Zealand, along with two key internal promotions.

Virtuoso’s General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Fiona Dalton, welcomed the new appointment by saying, “Sophie’s vast industry experience, paired with her commitment to service and relationship building, aligns seamlessly with Virtuoso’s ethos.

“We are confident that her leadership will propel our efforts to deliver outstanding experiences for our partners and clients.”

Treasure has a comprehensive tourism background, including roles as Industry Relations Manager and Sustainability Manager at Tourism Australia. Also fluent in French, Treasure also possesses a business degree with a major in travel and tourism, which Virtuoso expressed equips her with an international perspective essential for the role.

Simultaneously, Virtuoso announced key internal promotions within its Australia and New Zealand team, with Zoe Dean ascending to the role of Marketing Director and Bhavini Aggarwal promoted to Senior Manager, Partner Relations.

Celebrating these advancements, Dalton said, “Zoe and Bhavini’s promotions reflect their exceptional contributions to our business.

“Their relentless dedication has exceeded our expectations, proving instrumental in Virtuoso’s regional success. We look forward to their continued influence in our evolving business landscape in Australia and New Zealand,” said Dalton.

Virtuoso also recently launched its brand-new Advisor Recruitment Program in Australia to connect highly sought-after luxury travel agents with member agencies.

The program will assist member agencies with talent shortages to hire qualified luxury travel advisors from outside the Virtuoso network, including those who are newer to the industry or small agencies looking for a host.

The program soft-launched in the US in February 2023 with 37 member agencies enrolled and 16 advisors placed.

Speaking about the new initiative at the time of launch, Dalton said: “We’re thrilled to launch Virtuoso’s Advisor Recruitment Program in Australia as a resource for our members to recruit talent at a time when the demand for professional travel advisors is ever-increasing.”

“Early participation from nearly two dozen of our regional members is a great indicator that the program will mirror the successful outcome seen in the US and aid agencies in growing their businesses by bringing in quality talent.”
