MTA travel agent Ken Oberhardt, who recently overcame heart problems, proudly crossed the finishing line at the New York City marathon earlier this month.
Ken underwent open-heart surgery to insert a mechanical valve a few years ago and for the longest time had trouble climbing a set of stairs.
But after months of recovery and training, he decided to take part in the world’s largest marathon.
Ken finished 245th place in the 60’s division, beating out 2,755 other sexagenarians registered for the event.
Well done Ken!
