National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) opens nominations... with a difference

Nominations for the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) 2024 are open, with changes to the criteria and an opportunity for agents to present to a panel of judges.

Nominations for the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) 2024 are open, with changes to the criteria and an opportunity for agents to present to a panel of judges.

From this year, nominees will need to demonstrate a minimum Total Transaction Value (TTV) in order to qualify, and finalists in the judged ATAS Accredited Business categories will have the opportunity to present their achievements to a panel of industry judges.

Australian Travel Industry Association CEO Dean Long, says the increased interaction with the finalists will help the judges make the most informed choice of award recipients.

NTIA 2024 is going to be a dazzling celebration of excellence, innovation and dedication to Travel.

“These enhancements to the eligibility criteria are the result of feedback from our wonderful NTIA Custodians and reinforce the rigour of the judging process.

“We encourage the industry to join us in honouring the highest standards of excellence in our industry by nominating the most outstanding professionals and businesses in travel.”

Last year’s winner of Most Outstanding Travel Agency, Stacey Brownsey of Helloworld Travel Mt Pleasant, says the role of a trusted advisor is now more important than ever.

“The future is bright. We have been through the toughest of times and have come through stronger than ever.”

A day before the awards, the ATIA is hosting the Beyond Borders summit (October 25). The inaugural summit allows agents the chance to hear from leaders across the travel industry.

Speakers will include Flight Centre’s CEO, Graham ‘Skroo’ Turner; Contiki, Trafalgar and Insight Vacations MD, Toni Ambler and Global family of brands Asia Pacific MD, Gai Tyrell.

Nominations for the awards close on 31 May.
