Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is celebrating the kick-off of its second annual Walk for Wellness challenge with over 1,000 agents across Australia and New Zealand registered to participate.

Today is day 1 of NCL’s Walk for Wellness challenge, so get outside and enjoy the healing power of nature.

Walk for Wellness is timed to coincide with a number of mental wellbeing initiatives in Australia and New Zealand, including Australia’s National Mental Health Month, New Zealand Mental Health Week and WHO World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

The initiative is designed to encourage friendly competition and a sense of community amongst travel agents from Australia and New Zealand, as they track their steps towards a combined goal of 100,000km, the distance Norwegian Prima will sail during her inaugural sailing season.

“Undoubtedly the past 18 months have been challenging for the travel industry, however as we near the end of border restrictions, there is a real sense of growing optimism,” said Damian Borg, Director of Sales, NCL Australia and New Zealand.

“We want to celebrate this moment in time but also our valued travel community, by re-energising, re-connecting and getting ready for the rebound.”

“To all our Walk for Wellness participants, today’s the day to lace up those runners and start pounding the pavement – and importantly, take the time to focus on your wellbeing.”

Because wellness means different things to different people, at the same time as encouraging agents to get active, NCL’s says its very first mindful colouring book – ‘Colour Your World’ – will allow agents and their clients to tap into the benefits of art to help improve mental wellness.

The benefits of colouring-in are well known, from the ability to bring the mind to a meditative state by quieting restless thoughts, to allowing people to achieve mindfulness by focusing on being in the present.

‘Colour Your World’ is filled with stunning illustrations showcasing some of the spectacular destinations which will be visited by Norwegian Prima as part of her inaugural sailing season – from Russia to Norway, the Baltics and beyond.

In addition, an illustration of the ship itself has been produced by Manuel di Rita, AKA Peeta, who designed Norwegian Prima’s striking hull artwork.

Travel partners – and their clients – can download the colouring book as individual pages to print at home from NCL’s Marketing HQ.
