Nature, culture (and food!) abound on Kyushu trade fam in Japan

Three Aussie agents enjoyed a seven-day famil trip to Japan’s southernmost island of Kyushu, taking in all the natural and cultural experiences on offer on an immersive itinerary developed by Kyushu Tourism Organization and Linkd Tourism.

Running from 14 – 20 August 2023, Tim Holden (Flight Centre), Angelina Briscoe (Wendy Wu Tours) and Adam Bourke (Scenic Tours) began their Kyushu trade fam in Fukuoka, the home of ramen.

Here, the group had many top foodie experiences, including the Yatai food stall night markets and High Tea at the city’s new Ritz Carlton property. 

Tim Holden of Flight Centre said: “Kyushu is incredible, super impressed how it balances all the ingredients we know and love about Japan.”

“The food, the culture, friendly people, onsens and temples gives a more local experience and takes you off the beaten track.”

Next was Yamaga where highlights included the Whiskey Distillery, onsens, temples, Yachioza theatre and the Yamaga Lantern Festival with VIP seating.

In Kumamoto, they visited the iconic Kumamoto Castle, Mt Aso crater and took the sightseeing Shinkansen bullet train back to Hotel OM05.

The final two nights were spent in Yakushima where they participated in guided hikes and water activities as well as enjoying the Japanese beach scene.
