It’s finally here! After a two-year hiatus, the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) kicks off tomorrow night at ICC Sydney with a black-tie gala dinner, recognising the amazing achievements, people and organisations that make up the Australian travel sector.
Thanks to Major Sponsor Singapore Airlines, NTIA 2022 will celebrate the best of the best in the travel industry across 31 traditional and new award categories, recognising everyone from Rookie of the Year to suppliers, consultants, sales and even Best Dressed.
With MC Richard Reid at the helm, entertainment will include a live band, aerialist and fireworks display to mark the resurgence of the Australian travel industry.
AFTA also announced the inaugural NTIA People’s Choice Award agency finalists earlier this week.

CEO Dean Long said the AFTA team is excited to welcome everyone to a well-deserved industry celebration at the NTIAs on Saturday 15 October.
“While there can only be one winner in each category, it’s important to remember the Australian travel industry has more than survived, we’re thriving post-COVID,” he added.
“This is a testament to the ongoing work of every travel business and travel professional.
“As an industry, we’ve supported each other through a time that felt isolating, frustrating and heartbreaking. That’s what tomorrow night’s NTIAs mean to me.”

Mr Long also thanked the event’s 23 sponsors for their support to make the celebration of the best in travel happen.
“We’re particularly grateful to our Major Sponsor Singapore Airlines for their support of travel’s night of nights,” he said.
“The travel industry is built on relationships and the value of contribution and every single one of our 23 generous sponsors isn’t going unrecognised by AFTA or any of our members.
“We’re incredibly grateful to acknowledge the outstanding work in our industry over the last year and to look forward together towards the bright future of travel.”
