Qantas switches over to a new global distribution model starting 1 July 2025, offering enhanced and modernised capabilities for travel advisors to access and service airfares.
Qantas NDC (new distribution capability) is a one-stop tech platform where you can expect better agent tools, faster bookings and increased support in the one place.
It marks a shift from legacy systems, such as EDIFACT, to modernise the booking experience to a retail-style of booking and servicing clients.

It’s a major update to how advisors can access Qantas fares, which the carrier says will bring benefits to both travel agents and their clients, and comes after widespread consultation with agency networks, frontline agents and industry advocates.
Advisors can provide more value to clients through dynamic Qantas content, more personalised offers (for Qantas Frequent Flyers and upgrades) and greater efficiency.

What does this actually mean? Qantas NDC will increase your ability to seamlessly sell ancillary products, including point-of-sale offers, and access new revenue streams through dynamic commissions.
There’s also a five-day Price Guarantee, allowing you to lock in your client’s fare (including taxes and charges) for up to five days or the ticketing time limit – whichever occurs first, and lower prices.
This gives your clients ample time to choose other travel details, such as accommodation and tours, without price fluctuations.

Meanwhile, new Qantas NDC support and serving tools allows you to manage bookings more effectively and efficiently.
Advisors can connect to Qantas NDC through your preferred tech partner with integration through 12 Certified Technology Partners, including Amadeus and Sabre.
