Qatar Airways has celebrated the launch of its daily flights from Brisbane with a joint event alongside Brisbane Airport. The airline marked the milestone with a cocktail evening, joined by representatives from Brisbane Airport and local partners.
The expansion of Qatar Airways’ Brisbane service is aligned with Australia’s reopening of tourists and international travellers with the route set to connect Queenslanders to more than 140 destinations worldwide via its Doha hub.
To further its commitment to the Queensland market, Qatar Airways made a donation of AUD$40,000 on the night to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal and a further $10,000 to the Brisbane Airport Corporation’s Community Giving Fund in support of local flood relief efforts.
Celebrating 25-years of flying, Qatar Airways has maintained its Australian routes throughout the pandemic across Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth while launching services to Brisbane to provide essential global connectivity.
Despite flight cap challenges, the airline has carried over 330,000 passengers in and out of Australia since March 2020 via both commercial flights and special chartered services.
