Rail Online choo-choo-chooses ETC for Australian representation

Australian OTA Rail Online has appointed Evolution Travel Collective (ETC) to accelerate its growth trajectory and brand awareness in the Australian market among travel advisors and drive sales and training for its innovative rail booking platform.

ETC will help drive sales to the Rail Online website by enhancing brand awareness and implementing a range of product training initiatives.

The rail booking platform recently added Eurostar, TGV and Thalys services alongside Amtrak and VIA Rail as part of its expansion plans for North America, Europe and Australasia.

Rail Online General Manager Australia & New Zealand Kirsty Blows said ETC is ideally positioned to work with Rail Online as an established operator with a national presence.

“Given the unprecedented demand for rail travel in 2023 and the rate at which our portfolio of products and services is expanding, it’s vital Australian travel agents are fully across the benefits Rail Online provides them and their customers,” Ms Blows said.

“To ensure that is the case, ETC will now undertake a broad variety of activities on our behalf, including visiting travel agents across the country, running high-value webinars and representing our company at key trade expos and conferences.”

Ms Blows said Rail Online was also keen to work closely with ETC Managing Director Ingrid Berthelsen, who has previously held senior roles with Rail Europe and Rail Plus in Australasia.

“There is no doubt that Ingrid’s unrivalled experience, knowledge and passion for the international rail sector is an enormous asset,” she added.

Ms Berthelsen said she is excited to be promoting a booking platform that is “transforming the travel advisors’ experience of booking global rail journeys”.

“Agents have often shied away from booking rail because it was a difficult and time-consuming task. That’s no longer the case because Rail Online’s platform makes the process fast and simple, giving agents the ability and confidence to offer customers a valuable additional service,” she said.
