AFTA CEO Dean Long said: “Thank you to everyone who submitted the over 1,700 nominations to this year’s NTIAs. Your nominations and submissions help us to celebrate the very best that Australian travel has to offer.”

This year’s event takes place in Melbourne on 18 November 2023 and features 36 award categories.

The NTIAs includes 27 ‘Most Outstanding’ judged categories, seven awards in the ‘Most Popular’ voted categories and two ‘People’s Choice’ awards for consumer campaigns.

Among the expanded award categories are cruise, airline, tour operator and wholesaler sections.

The event reinstates the Business Events Travel Agency and Car Rental Operator awards plus introduces the Innovation in Travel Support Services category.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to come together to celebrate and acknowledge the innovation, determination and resilience of our people and our sector,” Mr Long added.

Singapore Airlines returns as the major sponsor for the 2023 NTIAs as part of a multi-year partnership. Melbourne’s Palladium at Crown will host the gala event.
