Mobile Travel Agents (MTA) has revealed former tennis star Jelena Dokic as the keynote speaker for its 2026 National Conference in Melbourne, with this year’s event built around the theme, “The Power of You”.
Running from 1-3 October 2026, the conference will bring together MTA advisors, preferred partners and support staff from across Australia. The theme puts the spotlight firmly on the people behind the business and the importance of resilience, connection and personal growth.
MTA says Dokic’s appearance aligns closely with that message. The former world number four has become one of Australia’s most recognised advocates for mental health and perseverance following her experiences with abuse, racism and displacement.

MTA General Manager Lesley Owen said Dokic’s story strongly reflected the network’s values and conference focus.
“The Power of You is about recognising our advisors – their resilience, their relationships, their expertise and the care they show their clients every single day,” she remarked.
“In an industry shaped by constant change and increasing technology, it’s still the human connection that matters most. That’s what our advisors deliver, and that’s what makes MTA so special.
“Jelena’s story is incredibly powerful and inspiring. Her message around resilience, courage and overcoming challenges is something we know will resonate strongly with our network.”

Conference sessions will take place at Crown Promenade Melbourne, while the gala dinner is scheduled for the newly opened 1 Hotel Melbourne.
Ahead of the official program, MTA will also host two days of pre-conference training centred on professional and personal development beyond traditional product updates.
Delegates can also take part in Melbourne experiences including street art tours, Melbourne Cricket Ground visits and the Skydeck experience.
KARRYON UNPACKS: MTA’s focus on resilience and personal development reflects a broader shift across travel. Advisors increasingly want conferences that invest in mindset and wellbeing, not just sales targets and supplier updates.
