The brains behind The Travel Industry Hub are former Equity Travel Group COO Richard Taylor and Global MD of The Visa Machine, Luke Crawford.

Their goal is to bring ‘industry coworking’ to every corner of Australia and New Zealand.

“Globally, coworking is booming”, Richard said. “Businesses of all sizes are attracted to freeing themselves from long leases and liabilities and instead finding a fluid space that can grow or contract with them”.

“For individuals, the interaction with others that comes with coworking spaces has tremendous benefits for productivity and mental wellbeing. Research has conclusively shown that people who use coworking spaces are more engaged and motivated and almost nine out of 10 people who co-work reported being happier.”

Their plan is to create open industry co-working spaces made up of companies, individuals and travel startups that can begin their journey with better exposure, industry expertise and links to investment opportunities.

“We’re looking for interest from companies and individuals. It could become something amazing,” he said.

“There are opportunities for spaces both inside and outside of city CBDs, and also in regional areas. Our survey results tell us there are people based at home or that travel frequently who’d love more interaction with like-minded others.”
