Hurtigruten APAC is celebrating the return of international travel with its first-ever famil trip; inviting 9 travel advisors to explore their Norwegian home waters.

Hurtigruten APAC, along with nine lucky travel advisors, is celebrating the #ArrivalRevival of international travel with a famil to Norway.

The travel advisors are experiencing pre and post packages available to guests, such as the popular ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ – incorporating the famed Flåm Railway – before joining the iconic Hurtigruten coastal cruise since 1893.

Partnering with Finnair, the group is exploring the vast landscapes of Norway and Finland. Finnair flight packages are available for Australia and New Zealand guests embarking on a Hurtigruten coastal cruise, which can be included in your clients’ bookings by a Hurtigruten consultant.

Last week, Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express announced that it is partnering with leading research organisation SINTEF to create zero-emission ships for the Norwegian coast, with the first ready to sail by 2030.

The company will be upgrading its existing fleet, which will see CO2 emissions cut by 25 per cent and NOx by 80 per cent.

“We are excited to announce our most ambitious sustainability initiative to date; creating solutions for zero-emission passenger ships, using the Norwegian coast as the ideal case. Our ambition is to sail an emission-free Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express ship by 2030,” said Hurtigruten Group CEO Daniel Skjeldam.

“We have built our last fossil-fueled ship for the Norwegian Coastal Express. When we sail the coastal route for the next 100 years, it will be emission-free, making the world’s most beautiful voyage even more spectacular,” said Hurtigruten Norway CEO Hedda Felin.
