1. Helloworld Agents visit the Great Wall with Qantas Holidays

Qantas Holidays with Qantas Airways recently hosted a Helloworld Travel incentive famil to one of its newest destinations – China.

The group experienced some of the most fascinating and popular sights in China including the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors and iconic giant pandas.

Pictured above in Tiananmen Square in front of the Forbidden City, the lucky group was made up of Helloworld Travel branded and associate agents and Qantas Holidays representatives.

 

2. Jumping for joy in Chile’s Moon Valley

MTA – Mobile Travel Agents’ Sarah Smith was jumping for joy while visiting northern Chile’s Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) best known as the place where NASA tested its Mars Exploration Rover before shooting it off to the Red Planet in 2005.

Part of a ‘Contours Chile Study Tour – Most Valued Agents Program’, Sarah’s busy itinerary also included hotel inspections walking tours and cookery classes while in the capital Santiago de Chile and port city of Valparaiso.

Tour highlights included a visit to the Atacama Desert and a stopover at the world-famous Santa Emiliana Winery in the Casablanca Valley and an opportunity to sample some of Chile’s finest wines.

 

3. Flight Centre wins with DriveAway

DriveAway carefully reviewed bookings made throughout 2016 and awarded the team at Flight centre 24/7 with a top supporters award for 2016.

Year-on-year Flight Centre 24/7 continues to suport and book DriveAway and 2016 was no exception, DriveAway said.

 

4. PTMs board a Princess for cruising masterclasses

World Leading Cruise Lines (WLCL) recently invited TravelManagers’ personal travel managers to experience a cruise masterclass onboard Emerald Princess as it docked at Circular Quay International terminal.

The 45 personal travel managers indulged in a five-course lunch following the interactive training sessions as well as a privately escorted ship inspection of MS Emerald Princess.

TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager Michael Gazal said he recognises the significant contribution home-based consultants make to the cruise sector and the need for ongoing education.

 

5. Hawaiian Airlines’ shows off offerings at Qudos Bank Arena

Hawaiian Airlines’ thought up a cute way to demonstrate the airline’s industry leading 3 x 32 kilos of free checked baggage allowance tying it in with a fun sponsorship activation during the airline’s first year as a Major Partner of Sydney’s GIANTS Netball team.

On the way to winning a place in the Grand Final, the airline staged a fun promotional event during a recent GIANTS game day. Hawaiian’s Karen McMillan, Director of Sales Australia & Partnerships Australia/New Zealand and the airline’s Sydney team brought the Hawaiian Spirit of Aloha to thousands of Australian netball fans at Qudos Bank Arena.

Four lucky fans; (from left) mother Vanessa, daughters Katherine and Elizabeth and friend Keira; also enjoyed Hawaiian’s “Best Seats in the House” courtside after winning a radio promotion staged the week prior. The happy family is pictured below ‘getting their shaka on’ with tuition from HA Promotions team member, Tad Fujinaka.

 

6. US travel industry honours Infinity Holidays as Top International Wholesaler

U.S. Travel’s Chairman’s Circle Honors program awards international tour operators, wholesalers and U.S.-based inbound operators for their contributions to the U.S. travel industry. Lisa Monk, Australia-based USA Product Specialist, proudly accepted the 2017 award in Washington DC on behalf of Infinity Holidays, alongside colleague Marie Reese.

Held at the Washington National Cathedral during the association’s annual IPW conference, this elite awards event, co-hosted by Brand USA, honours international Wholesalers for outstanding efforts to bring the world to America.

The evening featured entertainment from the Washington National Opera, and was emceed by travel expert and TV host Samantha Brown.

 

7. California reps have a swinging good time

A cross section of California‘s Australia based travel and tourism representatives caught up for Visit California‘s latest Friends of California event in Sydney. Los Angeles Tourism Convention Board, Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, Disney, Universal Studios Hollywood, Visit Huntington Beach and San Diego Tourism were among the group who tested out the newly renovated facilities at Moore Park Driving Range to pay homage to California‘s array of top golf courses.

Two awards were given out on the night for longest drive; Marlie Morrison from Disney Parks and Resorts and David Clarke also from Disney Parks and Resorts both took out the respective titles of longest female driver and longest male driver.
