After sixteen years in business, travel guru Zoe Sparks knows a thing or two about what makes small business tick and what’s involved to enduring longevity and success.
Her passion for small business, women in business and reward and recognition is extraordinary, and after years of people asking her to mentor or share her tips, Zoe has finally decided to put them all into a book – ‘Strive & Thrive’ – to share her knowledge and expertise with all that may be interested.
“I have applied these tips to my business in its various forms,” she said.
“Most of these have applied whether I have had one to eight staff onboard or whether I’ve been based in a retail shop front, corporate office or home based office environment.”

Zoe started out as a travel consultant in Caloundra in the early 90’s and moved to Sydney after winning the prestigious Traveland National Consultant of the Year Award.
Since then, Zoe has worked in travel company Head Offices, as a ‘wholly owned’ travel centre manager and then set up her own company, Spectacular Events Pty Ltd, which has enjoyed multi-award winning success in the travel and conference & event management fields.
Recognised as the Sunshine Coast Business Woman of the Year in 2004, and then as a Telstra QLD Business Woman of the Year finalist in the following two consecutive years, Zoe became known for her skills in building and running her small business.
This led her to assist in a number of community and Board roles, as well as earning herself a reputation as a small business mentor and in recent years, Judging roles on a number of award committees.
Writing a book to share her tips on business success was a natural progression and ‘Strive & Thrive’ covers business fundamentals and gives tips, advice, thoughts and suggestions on all areas of Vision & Leadership, Marketing, Customer Service, Sales, Administration, People/Staff.
