2. SPOTTED… Globetrotting around Bangkok

-1

Thai Airways and Globetrotter hosted 6 corporate clients on a recent famil to vibrant Bangkok.

Staying at the 5-star Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, the group had the chance to experience the hotels vast facilities including an amazing 9 restaurants including the award-winning Sua-Ban Thai restaurant.

The group enjoyed watching the sun set over the bustling city at the Blue Sky Rooftop Bar, shopping at the adjoining Central Plaza Ladprao, and escaping from the hustle and bustle of the city at the resorts swimming pool surrounded by lush gardens.

Located on the northern side of Bangkok, the hotel is less than 10-minutes’ walk or a complimentary shuttle away from the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in the world with over 15,000 booths selling goods from all over Thailand.

3. SPOTTED… French toasting in France

Alpine scenery, fresh snow, French food: what’s not to love about a ski holiday in France? And when that holiday is set in an all-inclusive Club Med ski resort, it’s even better, as seven personal travel managers (PTMs) who took part in a TravelManagers exclusive famil to Club Med Valmorel recently discovered.

The group of PTMs were hosted by Luke Skarbek, Club Med’s Business Development Manager for NSW & ACT, and accompanied by Donna Jones, who is Malaysian Airlines’ Sales Executive for WA.

Valmorel is one of the lesser-known French ski resort towns, located just forty kilometres from Albertville (home of the 1992 Winter Olympics).  There are over 150 kilometres of trails to choose from, most of which are pitched at the intermediate skier, making it an ideal, family-friendly location for a Club Med resort.

Sue Kuti, representative for Randwick NSW, was sufficiently impressed by what she saw that she would love to return for a family holiday of her own.

“The location is stunning,” she says, “and it’s easy for all age groups to have a great time. You have direct access to the ski field from the resort and you can pop back for lunch whenever you fancy.”

Kuti also points out that for families with smaller children, having such easy access directly from the resort means that they don’t feel compelled to spend full days on the mountain.

“Ski lessons and equipment are included so the kids could spend the morning learning to ski before heading back to the resort for a yummy lunch and then enjoy the on-site facilities such as the all-weather ice-skating rink, the swimming pool and the Jacuzzi in the afternoon.  There’s even a free shuttle that runs into the Valmorel village if you want to do a little exploring or shopping.”

Peter Carmichael, representative for Mereweather NSW, was also very taken with the family-friendly nature of both Valmorel and the Club Med ski concept: in fact he’s already planning to take his own family on a Club Med ski holiday in January 2019.

“The resort is truly inter-generational and caters to all travelers,” he confirms.  “A huge plus is that their kids’ centre caters for children aged from three months all the way up to seventeen years, which allows everyone in the family a great holiday experience in the snow.”

4. SPOTTED… hosting the Darwin Cup

Qantas Holidays

The exclusive three day experience saw 18 lucky Helloworld Travel Agents attend the Qantas Darwin Cup and pre-events all thanks to Qantas Airways.

The group glammed up to attend the Qantas Darwin Turf Club Gala Ball, before donning their race day flair and fascinators for the Darwin Cup races the following day.

TRAVEL AGENTS

Qantas Airways looked after all of the arrangements, flying agents to Darwin effortlessly on Qantas from Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, and providing three nights’ accommodation in central Darwin.

The Helloworld Travel agents enjoyed heading out on a sunset harbour cruise and utilising the local hop on hop off bus with transfers throughout their trip provided.
