TravelManagers staged its first national virtual training day with 150-plus participants joining online to hear from a fleet of cruise suppliers and the company’s in-house cruise and training teams.
TravelManagers’ National Partnership Office (NPO) team worked remotely in different states to deliver the training in a virtual format, designed to allow personal travel managers (PTMs) across all states to attend.
The home-based agents heard from Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Silversea, Scenic and Emerald Luxury Cruises and Virgin Voyages (represented by Travel the World).
Each supplier shared updates on new ships, incentive programs and the latest offers as well as prizes for the PTMs in attendance.
Cruise Lines International Association also endorsed the event as accredited training, so PTMs obtained CLIA points for attending the training session.

Malone (Cruise Product Manager) & Jessica Lyster (Training Coordinator).
TravelManagers Cruise Product Manager Lia Malone said it was wonderful to have so many suppliers available for a single training session.
“We’re happy so many PTMs were eager to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the training session.”
Business Partnerships Manager Melinda Rowe added: “As homed-based consultants, many PTMs fit their work hours around personal commitments. The virtual format meant we could have PTMs from all over Australia, and even some travelling overseas, taking part.”
