Inside TravelManagers' supplier lunches: Why strong partnerships still drive the trade

TravelManagers has hosted its annual supplier appreciation lunches across five Australian cities, recognising the vital role suppliers play in the success of its personal travel manager (PTM) network.

TravelManagers has hosted its annual supplier appreciation lunches across five Australian cities, recognising the vital role suppliers play in the success of its personal travel manager (PTM) network.

Held in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth throughout July, the events brought together travel industry partners and TravelManagers’ leadership team to share a meal and reflect on the year’s achievements.

Why supplier lunches matter

Executive General Manager Michael Gazal said the lunches had become a valued tradition for the company.

“Our partners play an essential role in the ongoing success of TravelManagers and our personal travel managers, and these lunches are our small but heartfelt way of expressing our gratitude,” he said.

“It’s always wonderful to have these opportunities to reconnect in person, celebrate what we’ve achieved together, and look ahead to the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Gazal also noted the strong turnout across all five cities, which he believes reflects the high level of engagement and mutual support among TravelManagers and its partners.

On the ground in five cities

In Brisbane, Queensland-based suppliers gathered at Siam Samrarn Thai, while in Sydney, the NSW lunch took place at Holy Basil restaurant. Collette’s Head of Sales (Australia), David Farrar, praised the Sydney event as a ten-out-of-ten experience.

“Many thanks to the TravelManagers team for such a nice lunch for suppliers – it is greatly appreciated, and I think by the amazing turnout, it was voted ten out of ten,” Farrar said.

In Adelaide, suppliers joined TravelManagers’ Chief Operating Officer Grant Campbell at Hotel Alba, while in Melbourne, representatives from G Adventures, On The Go Tours and Azamara attended the lunch. The Perth event was held at Kitsch Bar Asia.

Looking ahead to Bali

Gazal also used the lunches to highlight TravelManagers’ upcoming national conference, scheduled to take place in Bali this September.
