Walk this way… to prizes and fun, all in the name of the stunning state of Utah! Just download the free app, form a team (or go solo) and participate in the Visit Utah Walker Tracker challenge that will get your juices flowing…
Running from 15 October to 18 December, a new incentive and educational program by the Utah Office of Tourism is set to rock the Australian and New Zealand travel industry landscape – step by step.
It’s called the Visit Utah “Walker Tracker” challenge, and it wants you to go outside and walk, virtually – for now, around the great state of Utah. Whether you team up with your travel industry colleagues or go at it alone, you’ll get to learn about one of the best places on earth to get outdoors in shoes or skis.
In case you don’t know, Utah is home to The Mighty 5® National Parks – which includes the 300-million-year-old Arches, martian-like Bryce Canyon, and the otherworldly Canyonlands – and, quite literally (and scientifically-proven) the Greatest Snow on Earth®.
You’ll get to learn all about what the state has to offer during this walking challenge, AND get yourself in good shape for when you actually visit… which could be sooner than you think!
That’s right, folks. There ARE prizes involved in this challenge, so you’re going to want to enter it…
But first, here are some more reasons why you should TOTALLY sign up and register for Visit Utah’s “Walker Tracker” challenge today…
1. It’s your only chance to travel internationally (for now)
Okay, so it’s virtual and all that, but this is about as close as you’re going to get to travelling overseas this year. And boy, what a place to (kinda) visit!
Perfect for families and adventurers alike, Utah is THE place to forge incredible memories and experience the best of the American outdoors, such as hiking in Zion and geologically-awesome Capitol Reef, or skiing in one of the dozens of world-class resorts in the Wasatch Mountains.
At each kilometre milestone, the FREE-to-download app (iOS and Android) will reward you with in-depth intel of points of interest you’ve passed along the way which you can use to build your own ideal Utah itinerary when you finally visit…
2. Build team camaraderie
The best way to boost team morale in the last quarter of the year is to band together and compete in a little competition, like this one! Teams of up to four travel industry mates can enter as a team and support each other whilst clocking up steps and rising to the top of the ladder.
So far, teams from Adventure Destinations, Adventure World, Canuckiwi (Us), Delta Peaches, Flight Centre Head Office, Holy Walkamolies, KarryOn, Manase Travel Studio, Mogul Ski World, Momento Travel, MTA Travel, Ride Holidays, Ski Max, Seven Seas, Travel & Co, Travel Managers, Travelplan, TTC, WildHeartedWorld have all registered.
Where’s YOUR team?
3. You can also show off…
Whilst agents are encouraged to band together and form teams to compete in the challenge, it’s also totally possible to enter (Han) solo. Come on agents, this is your chance to show off your walking skills and promote your prowess on the pavement for all the industry to see!
But remember: this is not a race, but a challenge, the purpose of which is to get you walking and learning about the great state of Utah… So no need to rush.
Just. Keep. Moving.
4. A worthy excuse to get out there and exercise
To complete the Visit Utah Walker Tracker challenge, you’ve got to average at least 6000 steps per day to get to the finish line in the required time.
If you were looking for an excuse to get out there and get moving, this is what you’ve been waiting for…
5. WIN a spot on a famil to Utah!
Okay, so this is what you’ve been waiting for, right? Well, lace up agents, because this is one incentive you’re going to want to join!
At the end of the challenge (which ends on December 18), four lucky walkers from Australia and New Zealand will win a spot on a famil to Utah once international travel reopens and we are able to do so safely – likely at some point in 2021…
On this famil, you’ll be able to experience Utah all its stunning glory. The prize package, courtesy of the Utah Office of Tourism along with their air partners Delta Air Lines, includes a minimum 6 nights of accommodation, some meals, activities, attractions and transportation.
The prize also includes economy-class flights with Delta Air Lines to Salt Lake City from Syndey. Note: winners from other cities in Australia or New Zealand will need to make their own way to Sydney.
Each person that completes the challenge (whether you’re walking singularly or as part of a team) will be entered into the draw, so good luck!
