Viking is looking for talented, committed, and proactive team players to fill their two new Australian-based roles. There’s possibly never been a better opportunity to get your foot in the door with one of the world’s newest and most awarded cruise lines.

The company is looking to attract charismatic individuals for the following roles:

PR & Comms Manager Role:

  • Develop and own a proactive press release schedule promoting global and local news to trade and consumer media plus drafting and distributing trade and consumer releases
  • Pro-active pitching of on-brand stories to media and organising professional media training when required
  • Respond in a timely manner to all ad-hoc media enquiries and requests, whilst nurturing media relationships with on-on-one meetups and networking
  • Coordinate all interview opportunities including compilation of detailed briefing documents
  • Develop, co-ordinate and sometimes host media famil and oversee co-ordination of all media events.
  • Identify, engage and leverage on-brand influencers and their positive WOM across appropriate marketing channels
  • Work closely with the marketing team to implement the content strategy through earned channels
  • Identify sponsorship opportunities with relevant brand partners and tourism boards
  • Develop and manage an internal communications strategy for the ANZ office
  • Monitoring marketing and industry news and trends to enhance marketing activity
  • Weekly reporting and attribution analysis of all coverage plus Budget management
  • Representing the Viking brand at industry events and expos

Your Skills:

  • Would suit someone looking to step up into a first-time manager role
  • Highly articulate with an excellent command of English and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely well-organised with strong project-management skills and the ability to multitask and work to multiple deadlines when competing priorities. Takes ownership of projects from start to completion
  • An analytical yet creative thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Competent at stakeholder management and able to effectively communicate with staff at different levels
  • Attention to detail and can ensure the accuracy of work
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment and able to adapt quickly to business needs
  • Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn and grow
  • Experience in Microsoft Office

Graphic Designer Role:

Design:

  • Creation of dynamic digital collateral such as interactive e-books, animated GIFs, animated HTML5 and static web banners, infographics, Facebook tiles and eDM banners
  • Producing bespoke print collateral including brochures, advertising, flyers, catalogues, magazines, signage, stationery
  • Concept to execution production of sales campaign collateral inclusive of overarching creative thematic and collateral for various marketing channels
  • Acting as brand custodian and ensure brand guidelines are adhered to at all times in the creative process, ensuring all work meets high production values and follows company brand guidelines

Project Management:

  • Collaborating with marketing team on the creation of all assets
  • Implementing the most efficient briefing and production processes to meet internal and external deadlines and continually improving procedures to maximise efficiency
  • Managing the production of all print jobs from start to finish ensuring quality control, correct specifications and working with marketing managers to develop and make sure deadlines are met
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with a selection of printers and other third-party vendors such as AdobeStock and Dropbox
  • Signing off on all print and digital proofs
  • Working with online collateral submission systems for advertisements and brochures such as AdSend, AdStream, InSite, Integration X, Issuu and others

Asset Management:

  • Liaising with global offices on the sharing of creative assets including cataloguing collateral from other markets, acquiring resources, debriefing of new content
  • Sourcing on-brand images and videos from global asset libraries and company managed AEM database and working with head office on global rights
  • Ensuring organisation of all files on server including images and video for authorised usage across all marketing channels

Other Tasks:

  • Educating marketing team on how to correctly use Adobe Creative Cloud and Libraries to create basic digital assets or make basic amends, and approving all creative before it goes live
  • Collaborating with freelance designers when required and mentoring design interns

Essential Skills:

  • Formal training in Desktop Publishing or Graphic Design
  • Creative flair with an eye for good design, a conceptual thinker.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in a Mac OS environment with: Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, InCopy and Bridge
  • Excellent understanding designing for web/digital specs and strong layout skills for print and digital
  • Working with HTML5 and asset creation
  • Detailed knowledge of printing and pre-press and managing print jobs
  • Photo retouching skills
  • Strong organisational skills and able to manage multiple projects
