With demand for Japan at an all-time high, Wendy Wu Tours will host one of the first escorted tour groups officially allowed back in the country after an almost three-year hiatus, announcing a new 26 July departure for its signature Jewels of Japan 12-day trip.

To celebrate Japan’s reopening, Wendy Wu Tours is offering half-price flight single supplements on this departure, as well as selected tours across its full Japan touring program, on bookings made by 30 June 2022.

Wendy Wu will be one of the first travel companies offering fully escorted group trips in Japan under the new guidelines set by Japan Tourism Agency, and it’s expected this first tour will sell out quickly.

Founder Wendy Wu said: “We’ve been given the green light by the Japanese Government to resume group touring and have taken the unprecedented step of adding an extra tour date in July to meet the huge demand for travel.”

“Our customers will be among the first to visit and experience the magic of the new Japan at its best.

“Having not had any tour groups for so long, the warmth and hospitality that our customers will receive this July will be second to none. It really is a monumental tour and an opportunity to be the first travellers back in Japan, after nearly three years,” Ms Wu said.

Japan opened to Australian tourist groups on Friday 10 June, ending a ban introduced nearly three years ago as part of the country’s COVID-19 control program.

This lifting of restrictions to allow masked, escorted tour groups into Japan represents one of the final milestones and an eagerly anticipated re-entry to international travel.
