The Delfin II is a floating refuge of casual sophistication on the Amazon River, a first-class river journey that ticks every conceivable box.

It’s also a pleasure trip for the senses: the 50 shades of green outside your suite window; the call of howler monkeys at sunset on the sundeck; the smell of the freshest air on the planet as you trek through the jungle; the taste of freshly picked fruit in the dining room; the touch of soft Peruvian linen as you crawl into bed after each magical day.

It’s also much, much more, as you’ll see below…

WHERE WILL YOU SLEEP?

Spread out over two decks, each of the 14 spacious suites onboard the Delfin II are stylish odes to contemporary elegance. The four Master Suites are all at the front of the vessel and feature 180-degree panoramic windows, king-size beds and modern bathrooms.

The other 10 suites offer equally stunning views of the Amazon, sporting extra-large windows and all the mod cons necessary for an indulgent experience on the water, including deluxe beds with Peruvian linen, individual climate control, large bathroom mirrors and hair dryers.

HOW WILL YOU EAT?

Like kings and queens! Seriously, not only is dining on the Delfin II a gastronomic journey through Peru’s vibrant and variegated culinary character, but it’s also a chance to eat directly from the Amazon.

The talented team of onboard chefs use only the freshest local ingredients in their creations, sourcing them directly from the Amazon itself.

When matched with the impeccable five-star service you’ll experience in the exquisite dining spaces found onboard, dining on the Delfin II is second to none.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Trek through the lush Amazonian interior in the early morning when you’re chances of spotting native wildlife are high. Or gain a heightened perspective of the forest on a canopy walk through the treetops

along suspended bridges. Back on the water, paddle downstream on a kayak through the calm water of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and immerse yourself in this ecological paradise.

Other activities include piranha fishing, bird watching, visiting an animal rescue centre and swimming with pink river dolphins. Or you can just chill on the hammock-filled sundeck as you course through the jungle, indulge in a massage or beauty treatment, or exercise in the onboard gym space – talk about a gym with a view!

WHEN SHOULD YOU LEAVE?

There are two seasons in the Amazon: wet and wetter. Technically the seasons are divided into dry (June to October) and flooded (November to May), although there’s only about 10 per cent more rain to contend with in the latter.

Choose the flooded season if you’re keen on seeing lots of birds and mammals up close. If hiking through the jungle and fishing is more your thing, choose the dry season.

You can choose between a three or four-night cruise on the Delfin II, each designed to showcase the secrets of the Peruvian Amazon in luxurious style and both departing from Iquitos.
