Always wanted to go to Coachella but never managed to get there? Well, exciting news! Coachella will be transforming into ‘Couchella’ available for live streaming right into your home from April 10.
As with everything else that you’ve had to cross out in your diary so far this year, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been postponed from April to October in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom. In fact, it’s time for your very own house partaaay music festival!
How? I hear you ask… well, a free documentary about the history of the beloved annual ritual will drop at the ‘exact time the doors’ were scheduled to open.
Friends can join you on a video call and you can dance your worries away with the talented acts that have graced the Coachella stage over the years.
“We’re excited to share a documentary two decades in the making – Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert. Music is the answer and what better time to share some of our favorite festival memories, performances and artist interviews from ‘99 to ‘19”, festival organisers said in a statement.
“Though we won’t be in the desert this April, we’re embracing #COUCHELLA instead. Watch with us starting April 10 at noon PT. Streaming free on YouTube.”
The documentary opens up the vault for the very first time to present the performances and behind-the-scenes stories that shaped the music festival. The film gives a rare look at Coachella’s colorful beginning, presents exclusive, never-before-seen footage, interviews, and features key performances from some of the biggest names in music.
The new dates for Coachella 2020 are 9-11 and 16-18 October.
Yes, it might feel like a lifetime away, but it certainly gives you a chance to decide on your colourful outfits, create your own eco-friendly glitter and perfect your dance moves!
