Following the success of our first Karryon Open Mindset event in Sydney, where we tackled the challenge of managing mental wellbeing in the travel industry, tickets are now on sale for our next Open Mindset event, which will take place on June 26 at Metropolis in central Melbourne.
Each Karryon Open Mindset live event focuses on tackling a collective travel industry challenge or opportunity. We unpack it by sharing personal experiences and practical solutions.
Join us for an inspiring three-hour lunch on Wednesday, June 26, to network with your peers and discover how you can advocate and contribute to a sustainable future for travel, enhance your professional impact with tips and strategies for your clients and business, and help foster a thriving community of travel changemakers.
The open-ended question we’ll discuss at this event is, “What will your role be in the travel industry’s sustainability transformation?”
How can we play our part and make a difference to sustain and regenerate the destinations, culture, communities, nature and wildlife we depend on to ensure a thriving travel sector for all?
While it’s a big task, one thing is sure – We can only do it together.
Sharing his excitement for the event, Karryon founder and Head of Storytelling Matt Leedham says, “Our objective for the event is to inspire more people within travel to get involved in the industry’s transformation journey and advocate for positive change in whatever way possible.
“We can only do this together, and I can’t wait to see everyone in Melbourne for what promises to be an engaging afternoon of connection, inspiration and learning.”
Karryon is honoured to partner with Intrepid Travel, Tourism New Zealand, Hurtigruten, and TTC Tour Brands for this Open Mindset event. All are unique purpose-led businesses creating incredible action in the sustainable and regenerative travel space and with many learnings to share.

Commenting on Intrepid Travel’s involvement in the event, Brett Mitchell, MD Australia, says: “We are proud to be Platinum Sponsor of Karryon’s Open Mindset Sustainability Event.
“Intrepid Travel believes collaboration is key to amplifying impact and driving positive change on the transformation journey to a sustainable and regenerative tourism industry. We welcome Karryon’s initiative to bring the industry together and look forward to seeing you there.”

Meanwhile, Andrew Waddel, General Manager – Australia, Tourism New Zealand, says: “The upcoming Open Mindset theme, regenerative tourism, is etched into much of the work the New Zealand travel industry continues to build. It’s deeply rooted in Te ao Māori – the Māori worldview – and is future-focused to ensure tourism gives back to the people and place more than it takes.
“We hope the attendees enjoy the time together to share and learn how we can come together to continue building a regenerative model for tourism.”

Echoing his support for the event, Damian Perry, Managing Director, APAC Region at Hurtigruten, says: “We are thrilled to stand alongside Karryon and sponsor their upcoming Open Mindset event this June, championing our mutual dedication to sustainability and social responsibility.
“We aspire to cultivate travel that is not only sustainable but also inclusive for generations to come. We can’t wait to engage with our community in meaningful discussions about shaping the future of travel.”
