In a world where salary is no longer the be all and end all to career satisfaction, TravelEdge has upped the ante with rewarding and recognising their staff.
With more time spent with work colleagues than family for many in the travel industry, the importance of creating a company culture which nurtures the team dynamic has played a large part in the ethos of Australia’s largest privately-owned travel company.
Choose brilliance. Be bold. Be authentic. Look after each other. Grow. Make it happen.
No, this isn’t a random list of quotes from a Wayne Dyer inspiration card deck, it is the list of core values that represent TravelEdge.
They believe to make it happen, their team needs to take responsibility, be proactive, accountable and do some old fashioned hard yakka whenever its needed. TravelEdge believes that in order for their partners to succeed and their team to achieve the ultimate in career satisfaction, they need to work together, roll up their sleeves and tackle projects head on…whatever they might be.
From an Employee Assistance Program to provide additional support when their team is in need, to coaching and mentoring programs designed to grow and develop skills both in and out of the workplace, the TravelEdge team are armed with all the tools they need to take the bull by the horns and assert their climb up the career ladder.
There were less bulls and more rescue puppies in the most recent epic incentive offering though. The CEO Award for Excellence recognises team members who display excellence in their actions and attitude toward TravelEdge’s pillars, who embody the business values and serve as ambassadors.
This year saw the four winners, Simon Andrews, Sarah Neal, Linda Ualesi and Chanra Young, jet off to LA to experience the City of Angels as true Los Angelians.
Travelling Business Class with Qantas, they called a 5-star West Hollywood hotel home for seven days, relished cocktails at some of the most sought-after rooftop bars, went behind the scenes on a VIP tour of Paramount Studios, cycled their way through Santa Monica and Venice Beach and even hiked Runyon Canyon with some new furry and feisty friends!

The competition is on for the award next year with TravelEdge team members embodying the business’ values in an attempt to take out the gong next year and head off on another incredible journey.
