Every submission was checked, reviewed and check again, before the judging panel for the 2015 Avis Scholarship culled entires down to just five finalists.

Congratulations to: Debbie Andrews – MTA Travel (WA); Barbara Baron – Southside World Travel (NSW); Kim Hall – American Express Global Business Travel (NSW); Jill Rimmer – Phil Hoffmann Travel (South Australia) and Belinda van Tholen – MTA Travel (Tasmania).

The awesome fivesome were selected as finalists for their work in providing outstanding customer service to every client.

All five consultants will now travel to Sydney where they will present to Scholarship judges before finding out who this year’s winner is on 10 November at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.

Debbie Andrews from MTA is among this year’s finalists.

Avis Travel Industry Manager Russell Butler said this year’s Scholarship attracted one of the most competitive fields in the award’s history.

“It also shows that in its 19th year the Scholarship remains as relevant as ever.”

The Avis Travel Agent Scholarship winner will receive two return Qantas Airways Business Class tickets to New York as well as six nights accommodation in Manhattan, seven days car rental from Avis and appointments with senior executives at Avis World Headquarters in New Jersey, with site visits to US travel agencies.

They’ll also receive a scholarship to study at Southern Cross University with financial support of up to $8,000. Plus 12 months individual membership of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia and two tickets to attend Cruise3sixty in Sydney.

Other goodies include a Polonious Resources personal profile, feedback session and on-call personal/professional coaching for 12 months and two tickets to the 2016 NTIA Gala Dinner in Sydney (return flights and overnight accommodation).

In addition, all of this year’s finalists will receive a personal online behavioural profile and consultation session with a Polonious Resources business coach.
