The Star Grand Brisbane has officially opened bookings for stays from 29 August 2024 in one of the most anticipated resort openings in Australia this year.

The Star Grand Brisbane has officially opened bookings for stays from 29 August 2024 in one of the most anticipated resort openings in Australia this year.

Prospective guests can now reserve one of the 340 luxurious rooms at the five-star hotel, which is located in the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct.

Designed to capture the vibrant spirit of Queensland’s capital, The Star Grand Brisbane offers a range of accommodation options.

Guests can choose from contemporary River King and City King Rooms, open-plan River and City Suites, Skyline City Suites and four Skyline Penthouse Suites.

Showcasing the best of Brisbane, The Star Grand is part of an expansive dining and leisure experience, with the hotel serving as a gateway to many activities within the 12-hectare riverside precinct.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by an enormous 21-metre glass oculus, Tony Albert’s 15-metre floating botanical sculpture “Inhabitant” and a glass Lasvit lighting installation within the lobby.

Designed by international studio Hassell, the rooms reflect Brisbane’s subtropical landscape. Each room offers big views, The Star’s signature bedding, dual rain showerheads and integrated technology for customising lighting, drapery and temperature.

The hotel’s 60 suites, including River Suites, City Suites and Skyline City Suites, feature spacious living areas, king beds and luxurious bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs.

Elsewhere, the top-level Skyline Penthouse Suites offers open-plan lounges, dining areas, private retreats and oversized bathtubs.

Along with the lobby-level Japanese restaurant, Sokyo, The Star Grand Brisbane will feature eateries including Cucina Regina, Black Hide Steak & Seafood by Gambaro, Azteca at The Terrace and celebrity chef Luke Nguyen’s dynamic Asian street food favourite Fat Noodle, as well as several bars.

“As the team prepare to unveil a destination almost a decade in the making, we are thrilled to invite guests of The Star Grand hotel to be among the first to experience the grand possibilities that await,” The Star Brisbane CEO Daniel Finch said.

“The Star Grand’s floor-to-ceiling windows will serve as a spectacular vantage point to capture the electrifying displays of Brisbane Festival, before we kick into Footy Finals, Melbourne Cup and all the festivities of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

“With venue openings rolling out over the coming months, our returning guests will have the opportunity to enjoy new experiences each time they visit including a wide-range of culinary delights and the unveiling of our hotel pools, steam room, sauna and gym in time for summer.

“The Star Grand’s place within The Star Brisbane and wider Queen’s Wharf precinct will add a new dimension to the city, strengthening Brisbane’s competitive advantage and providing domestic and international visitors even more compelling reasons to visit Queensland ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

The Star Grand Brisbane is set to open in phases, with additional dining, entertainment and event venues launching progressively from 29 August through late 2024.

In June, Queensland proved the clear winner when it comes to Australia’s visitor economy recovery, attracting 3.7 million international travellers and the highest expenditure for the year ending March 2024.
