Great news for long-limbed travellers. A new seating option has been announced by Etihad Airways, providing even more choice for their customers embarking on long-haul flights.
As if we needed any more reason to feel festive towards the end of the year, the brilliant new redesign will be introduced on 10 of Etihad Airways Airbus A380s by December 2018.
This Economy Space seating will feature an increased seat pitch of up to 36 inches across economy seating. So, for this type of aircraft, the number will jump from 20 extra legroom seats to 80 on one flight alone.

In another huge move for the airline, additional Economy Space seating will be added to 12 Boeing 777s and 21 Boeing 787 Dreamliners by the end of 2019.
This massive redesign means a HUGE 560 per cent increase in the number of extra legroom seats.
Head of Guest Experience for the airline, Jamal Ahmed Al Awadhi, said of the new scheme: “We recognise that no two travellers are alike, and today’s customers demand more choice and personalisation during their travels”.
“While many airlines have been squeezing more seats into economy class, we continue to focus on providing our guests with exceptional products and services that meet and exceed the demands and budgets of different types of travellers,” he added.

A whole variety of travellers will be able to enjoy and benefit from Economy Space, including the elderly, families with small children and those who require wheelchair assistance.
t’s worth noting, however, that no matter which seating is chosen, be it with Economy Space or not, customers will continue to receive the full spread of Etihad’s exemplary service such as in-flight entertainment and dining.
