Coffee with altitude: Air New Zealand serves Carry On bespoke blend to cockpit window

Air New Zealand has teamed up with Kiwi coffee roasters Coffee Supreme on an exclusive 'Carry On' blend (we love the name, obvs), introducing the new brew with a 'Fly Thru' stunt – delivering a takeaway cuppa straight to the cockpit window.

Air New Zealand has teamed up with Kiwi coffee roasters Coffee Supreme on an exclusive ‘Carry On’ blend (we love the name, obvs), introducing the new brew with a ‘Fly Thru’ stunt – delivering a takeaway cuppa straight to the cockpit window.

The world-first stunt took place at Queenstown Airport with a barista handing over a takeaway coffee to the flight deck window of an Air New Zealand Airbus A320 jet.

Air New Zealand Chief Customer & Digital Officer Jeremy O’Brien said the airline is always looking for ways to elevate its service and is proud to support a local business.

“There are few things that say ‘New Zealand’ quite like a great cup of coffee. Partnering with Coffee Supreme means we’re not just serving coffee on board – we’re offering the very best of New Zealand to our customers,” he said.

The partnership follows similar initiatives to find the perfect Kiwi snack to showcase local brands and flavours during flights.

Coffee Supreme CEO Andrew Low said the bespoke ‘Carry On’ blend for Air New Zealand is designed to hold its own long after take-off.

“We’ve spent three decades chasing better coffee on the ground; now we’re chasing it at altitude. We’re proud as punch to be partnering with Air New Zealand so travellers can enjoy the same care and quality we pour into every cup at 30,000 feet as they do today at their local cafe or at home,” he said.

The Coffee Supreme Instant blend will roll out in Economy cabins and across the airline’s domestic network in November 2025.
