Air New Zealand is living the aviation ‘Dream’ – by utilising its Boeing 787-9s more frequently and sending them to new destinations.

This week, the airline became the only one operate Dreamliner services to Hawaii, with the inaugural 787 flight departing from Auckland to Honolulu late yesterday.

In addition to being a first for Hawaii, it’s also the first time the airline has operated the Dreamliner on one of its five North American routes on a scheduled and exclusive basis.

Air New Zealand has also revealed it will start flying the aircraft on Argentina services from 30 October 2016.

In addition to switching aircraft, the carrier will increase frequency on the Auckland-Buenos route during peak periods, with an extra weekly service operating between 12 December 2016 to 27 February 2017. This brings the total to four weekly return flights.

Air New Zealand already has something similar, the SkyCouch.

Air New Zealand’s Chief Sales and Commercial Officer, Cam Wallace, said the carrier’s Boeing 787-9 offers guests superior inflight experience with higher humidity and lower cabin altitude that allows them to arrive at their destination feeling relaxed and more refreshed.

Onboard, the Dreamliner offers the airline’s award-winning Economy Skycouch™, comfortable ink-coloured luxury leather seats with leg rests in Premium Economy, and lie-flat beds in Business Premier.
