Air New Zealand unveils new expansive Brisbane lounge

Air New Zealand has released first pictures of its new Brisbane International lounge ahead of the official opening tomorrow.

Air New Zealand has released first pictures of its new Brisbane International lounge ahead of the official opening tomorrow.

The lounge, which has been described as significantly larger than the previous space, offers 70 percent more seating to accommodate 200 guests at a time, and has been purpose-built to offer a tailored experience.

Among the highlights of the lounge is its prime position, wrapping around the corner of the gateway’s upper level. This gives passengers a better view of Brisbane city as well as the lower terminal.

Larger windows provide natural light while the new children’s play zone and family space provides groups a place to entertain in specialised areas.

For travellers looking to get a little work done on the road can take refuge in the ‘quiet nooks’ or pull out their laptops at the business tables.

Air New Zealand General Manager Customer Experience Carrie Hurihanganui said the opening of the Brisbane Lounge is part of the airline’s commitment to continually improving the customer experience every step of their journey.

“We’re proud to offer our customers a seamless transition to the new lounge and we’re certain they will enjoy everything about the space.”

Air New Zealand’s new lounge has been designed by the award-winning US-based firm, Gensler, as part of a new $100 million programme to develop the airline’s lounge network.

It follows the recent completion of the Sydney International, Auckland International, Auckland Regional and Invercargill Lounges.

The new Air New Zealand Brisbane Lounge is located on the upper level of the airport next to gate 81 and near the escalators and food court and will be open to eligible lounge customers from 16 March.
