AirAsia has partnered with Australian comedian Lizzy Hoo for its new ‘Who’s Hoo’ campaign, leveraging the popular entertainer’s appeal to highlight the Malaysian-based low-cost carrier’s fun and playful nature to an Aussie audience.
The collaboration launched at the recent Laneway Festival in Perth, targeting a younger demographic with its brand activation, as the new ‘Who’s Hoo’ video series rolls out on social media.
AirAsia CCO Amanda Woo said the new partnership is a great fit for Down Under travellers.
“Fun and entertainment underpin our brand and personality, and Lizzy identifies well with our Australian, Malaysian and wider Asian audiences,” she said.
“We are really excited about confirming Lizzy Hoo as our newest brand partner by tapping into local cultures on our vast network and using comedy to help stimulate travel for the most exciting and funny adventures.”

Born in Brisbane, Australia, “Lizzy from Brissie” welcomed the new partnership. Hoo’s dad is originally from Malaysia and her parents met in Penang when her mum was backpacking in the ‘70s.
“Travel is such a powerful experience. I wouldn’t be here if my mum hadn’t gone to Malaysia. She always encouraged me to see the world and experience different cultures,” Hoo said.
“I can’t wait to travel across Asia and share some of my experiences with some fun content that encourages everyone to get out there and see the world. Life is more fun when you have a trip planned.”

As part of the partnership, Hoo will also be heard and seen on AirAsia aircraft in 2025, experiencing the service firsthand while travelling to some of the LCC’s popular and unique destinations.
She will also join the team on-ground at upcoming events including Sydney City2Surf sponsored by AirAsia.
