Australians will soon have access to the world’s best Premium Economy class, as Air New Zealand was announced as the winner of the title in this year’s World Airline Awards.

The airline was awarded ‘World’s Best Premium Economy Class’, ‘Best Premium Economy Class airline seat’ and ‘Best Premium Economy onboard catering’ at the Skytrax World Airline Awards held in Paris.

The Class is currently available on Air New Zealand’s twin aisle wide body 777 on short haul routes.

Air NZ also took out the award for Best Premium Economy onboard.

However, from 25 October this year, the Boeing 777 and 787-9 Dreamliner will take the award-winning class across the Tasman. It will also fly to the Pacific Islands and Bali.

The class is similar to the airline’s long haul product and includes a range of benefits, including greater space and premium food as well as additional baggage allowances, premium check-in and priority boarding.
