AirlineRatings Awards: Qatar Airways wins best airline and business class 2021

Qatar Airways has been crowned Airline of the Year in the prestigious AirlineRatings Airline Excellence Awards for 2021. The airline also clinched the Best Middle East Airline, Best Catering, and the Best Business Class awards.

A commitment to keep the world’s air routes open during COVID-19, innovation, new products, and world-renowned inflight service has combined to award Qatar Airways as the prestigious AirlineRatings.com 2021 Airline of the Year in its Airline Excellence Awards.

Remarkably, the win also marks the third year in a row that Qatar Airways has achieved the Best Business Class accolade, recognising its patented Qsuite product.

The AirlineRatings ‘Airline of the Year’ award acknowledges the best overall aviation practice, focusing on product innovation, good route network and overall safety.

All AirlineRatings awards are given based on industry professionals’ strict assessment criteria with extensive expertise and experience in the aviation field.

Recent figures from the travel data provider, OAG, highlight that Qatar Airways continues to be the world’s largest airline*, offering more global connectivity than any other airline. Qatar Airways has been leading the recovery of the aviation industry since the COVID-19 pandemic, with more flights to international destinations than any other airline via Hamad International Airport.

Qsuite, a patented Qatar Airways product and an industry favourite, offers a First Class experience in the Business Class cabin. Qsuite features the industry’s first-ever double bed in Business Class, as well as privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room, a first of its kind in the industry. 

As multiple award-winning airlines, the national carrier of the State of Qatar continues to rebuild its network, which currently stands at over 140 destinations. Qatar Airways also features flexible booking policies that offer unlimited changes in travel dates and destinations and fee-free refunds for all tickets issued before 31 August 2021 for travel completed by 31 May 2022.

Qatar’s national carrier is at the forefront of developing and introducing new aircraft types such as the 787, A350, and 777X and it has one of the world’s youngest fleets.
