American Airlines (AA) is expanding its premium passenger amenities at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in 2026, unveiling a dedicated Flagship check-in space and two new lounges, including the largest Admirals Club in its network.
Travellers connecting through AA’s largest hub will find an expansive new 3,440sqm Admirals Club lounge in DFW’s redesigned Terminal C.
Alongside it, a first-ever Flagship check-in experience opens in Terminal D later this year and a grab-and-go Provisions by Admirals Club space is planned for the future Terminal F in 2026.
Dallas-Fort Worth is the connecting point most Aussies pass through when flying AA to and around the US with seasonal direct flights from Brisbane, plus nonstop services to LA from Sydney and Brisbane, making the new lounges and amenities relevant to Australian travellers.
Qantas and AA also have an ongoing alliance, which is up for review by the ACCC this year.
What Flagship check-in offers

Located near the D30 security checkpoint, the Flagship check-in experience opens later in 2026 for eligible premium and loyalty customers.
It features a private check-in environment, individual assistance from AA team members and direct access to security screening, taking passengers from curb to gate with fewer touchpoints. The format mirrors the Flagship check-in already offered at select AA hubs worldwide.

AA Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden, who shared the airline’s Boeing B787-9P aircraft design upgrade in Brisbane last year, said: “We’re investing in every stage of the premium travel journey at DFW, beginning the moment customers arrive at the airport.”
“Our Flagship check-in experience offers a more tailored and streamlined start to the journey, bringing together dedicated service, premium amenities and greater convenience for our most loyal and premium customers.”
Inside the new Admirals Club

Located near the Terminal C Skylink station, the new Admirals Club offers a variety of seating, dedicated work and relaxation zones and premium amenities.

The lounge carries enhancements rolled out across AA’s Admirals Club network, including chef-inspired menus, expanded all-day food selections with charcuterie and a beverage program featuring specialty cocktails, spirits, wines and local favourites, plus Champagne Bollinger and Lavazza coffee.
Why DFW matters for Aussie itineraries

Dallas-Fort Worth is AA’s hometown and largest hub, handling more than 930 peak daily departures and over 30 per cent of the airline’s daily connecting customers and checked bags.
The Provisions by Admirals Club space in the future Terminal F will provide a streamlined grab-and-go option with curated fresh food, premium beverages and travel essentials – the first of American’s premium offerings planned for the new Dallas-Fort Worth terminal.

AA Senior Vice President of DFW Operations Jim Moses added: “We’re making significant investments in the future of our largest hub at DFW with our customers at the heart of every decision.”
“From major expansions to transformative enhancements, we’re making travel through DFW even more seamless, comfortable and convenient.”
The lounge and check-in works add to a wider program at Dallas-Fort Worth that includes a new 13-bank flight schedule structure and electronic boarding gates, timed to the airline’s centennial year in 2026.
KARRYON UNPACKS: For Australians flying American direct to the US, Dallas-Fort Worth is usually the first stop and the point where a long-haul arrival becomes a domestic connection. A calmer check-in, the network’s biggest lounge and a smoother terminal flow all bode well for premium clients booked through the Qantas–American Airlines alliance.
