Services in and out of Bali’s Denpasar Airport have been cancelled for today as volcanic ash from Mount Raung blows towards the gateway.
Virgin Australia has cancelled ten flights to and from Bali because ‘conditions are not suitable for operations’.
The airline said in an online statement that experts have advised that disruptions at the airport are forecast to continue for the rest of the day.
“We continue to monitor the situation closely.”

Travellers in Bali have been urged by the airline to not travel to Denpasar Airport without a confirmed rebooked flight.
Additional services will be scheduled between Australia and Bali once the carrier has ensured guests can fly safely.
Meanwhile, Jetstar cancelled one flight and delayed two more schedule to depart early this morning.
Last night, the budget airline also cancelled two services, citing ‘highly unpredictable’ ash and winds.
“We regret the disruption these cancellations will cause our customers but the safety of passengers and crew is our first priority.”
