The Hong Kong-based carrier has revealed plans to expand its network with a new direct service from the ‘Pearl of the Orient’ to Madrid.

This means from 2 June next year, your clients can fly Cathay to Hong Kong and then hop onto a flight straight to Spain’s central capital.

It is the only direct link to Madrid from Hong Kong and one of the fastest ways for Aussies to fly to Spain’s central capital. The service competes with the Middle Eastern carriers that also offer Aussies one-stopover travel to the city.

The service will operate four-times weekly during the Northern Summer with CX315 leaving Hong Kong at 12.45am and arriving in Madrid at 8.45am on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The return service flight CX320 will depart Madrid at 12.25pm and arrive in Hong Kong at 7.05am the following morning.

Services will operate on a different time schedule during the Northern Winter.

The airline will operate its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route, giving passengers access to award-winning Business Class, new Premium Economy and long-haul Economy Class seats.

Cathay Pacific’s Chief Executive, Ivan Chu, said the network expansion is part of a core strategy to strengthen the airline’s position in Hong Kong and the world.

“We are committed to expanding our presence in Europe, having recently added Manchester, Zurich and Düsseldorf to our network, and we are now pleased to offer more choice and convenience to passengers travelling between Hong Kong and Madrid.”
