Twice as nice: Cathay Pacific adds year-round, twice-daily flights from Brisbane and Perth

Cathay Pacific is increasing its flight frequency from Brisbane and Perth to Hong Kong, with both cities moving to 14 weekly services year-round from 26 October 2025.

Cathay Pacific is increasing its flight frequency from Brisbane and Perth to Hong Kong, with both cities moving to 14 weekly services year-round from 26 October 2025.

The expansion will see Brisbane flights rise from 12 to 14 per week, and Perth flights increase from 11 to 14 per week, aligning with the expected demand over the 2025–26 summer travel season.

The announcement means Cathay Pacific will operate over 80 flights per week across Australia during the peak period. In addition to Brisbane and Perth, the airline continues to run multiple daily flights from Sydney and Melbourne, with seasonal services from Cairns and the return of a summer seasonal service from Adelaide starting 11 November 2025.

From 26 October 2025, Brisbane–Hong Kong flights will depart daily at 00:45 and 11:40, while Perth–Hong Kong flights will depart at 07:50 and 19:10 local time. All flight times are subject to change and regulatory approval.

Cathay Pacific Regional General Manager, Southwest Pacific, Frosti Lau said the additional flights reflect the airline’s commitment to the region.

“Every new service is an opportunity to open more doors for our customers, and we’re proud to serve as a key gateway for both travellers and freight to Hong Kong and beyond from these two cities,” Lau said.

This month also marks a broader milestone for the airline, with the Cathay Group celebrating a network expansion to 100 passenger destinations worldwide.

A timely lift for agents

More flights mean more options. And for travel professionals, that flexibility matters. With daily morning and evening departures from both Brisbane and Perth, travel advisors can offer a broader range of itineraries to suit clients heading to Hong Kong, North Asia, Europe or North America.

Brisbane Airport Executive General Manager Aviation, Ryan Both, said the airline’s expanded schedule strengthens global connections for travellers.

“Cathay Pacific is one of the world’s great hub carriers and it’s fantastic to see them at full strength connecting the world.

“Cathay Pacific’s move to double daily flights to Brisbane is fantastic news for Queensland’s tourism industry, delivering more choice and convenience for travellers and strengthening our state’s global connectivity.”

Perth flights pass 200,000 seat mark

In Perth, the move to 14 weekly flights translates to more than 200,000 seats each way annually. Perth Airport’s Chief Commercial & Aviation Officer Kate Holsgrove said the timing is right for both leisure and business travel.

“Our long-standing partnership with Cathay Pacific has connected Western Australia to Hong Kong and beyond for decades,” she said.

“And our partnership continues to grow, which highlights the airline’s ongoing commitment to Perth as a destination.”
