In a big boost for Queensland flyers, China Southern will double direct services to Brisbane Airport with year-round flights, going twice daily between BNE and Guangzhou, China (CAN) from 30 March 2026.
The expanded schedule will depart BNE at 10:15am and 11pm for the approximately nine-hour, 20-minute nonstop flight, making the seasonal services into a year-round schedule.
The extra service will add more than 114,000 seats into BNE every year, operating on the carrier’s next-gen Airbus A350 aircraft.

CS was the first Chinese carrier to fly to Queensland, returning to BNE in 2023, and brings more Chinese visitors into the state than any other airline, including a new Virgin Australia codeshare agreement.
BNE passengers can connect through the airline’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport mega hub to destinations within Asia, plus eight cities in Europe and five cities in North America.

BAC CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said the boost marks the highest-ever frequency by the airline since it commenced operations to BNE in 2010.
“Moving to double-daily flights year-round will supercharge Brisbane’s connectivity and give travellers greater choice and flexibility when flying to and from China,” he said.

CS ANZ Regional General Manager Jason Sun said the strengthened schedule reflected ongoing demand from both sides.
“This capacity enhancement reflects our long-term confidence in the Queensland market and directly responds to the growing demand for business, tourism, cultural exchange and family travel,” he said.
